Dr. Henry Louie, IEEE Smart Village executive committee member, spoke with KING 5 News about his upcoming trip to Zambia and the work he’s doing alongside Kilowatts for Humanity and IEEE Smart Village.

An associate professor with the department of electrical and computer engineering at Seattle University, Dr. Louie is passionate about bringing electricity to rural villages in Sub-Saharan Africa by building microgrids and developing renewable energy solutions.

“It’s all about giving them electricity for the first time,” said Dr. Louie.
